Matthew A. Stein,

Newport Beach. Matthew A. Stein is a Casualty Attorney for the Newport Beach office of Armijo, Morovati & Shields. Mr. Stein concentrates his practice in cases related to products liability, premises liability, automobile collisions, construction litigation and construction defect cases.  Mr. Stein regularly defends clients against wrongful death claims, as well as cases involving quadriplegia, paraplegia, burn injuries and traumatic brain injuries.  

Mr. Stein has 20 years of experience litigating and trying cases with a strong track record of successfully defending complex and high exposure cases.  Some of the subjects of the cases that he has defended include a suit involving wrongful death in connection with an automobile accident at a construction site and defending a manufacturer in a suit alleging product defects resulting in significant burn injuries to the plaintiff's face and hands, requiring multiple surgical procedures.  As a skilled negotiator, Mr. Stein has also been able to resolve many disputes through informal settlement negotiations, mediations and mandatory settlement conferences. 

Mr. Stein's construction defect practice currently focuses on the defense of subcontractors in these complex litigation cases.  However, Mr. Stein also has significant experience defending general contractors and developers, including defending a general contractor in a $24 million claim concerning ground up construction of a school campus.  Mr. Stein also has experience defending professionals, including lawyers, accountants and insurance brokers.
