Tieteentekijät

Chubb European Group Se (Chubb) is an international insurance company, part of one of the world's largest insurance groups. We have been operating in Finland for almost 30 years.

Tieteentekijät has insured its members with group insurance (membership insurance), which includes leisure travel Insurance, leisure accident insurance and union eventiInsurance. Group insurance provides members with additional cover for leisure, travel and participation in the organisational activities.

Leisure accident insurance

Accident insurance provides cover for medical expenses, permanent disability and death caused by an accident. The insurance is valid 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, anywhere in the world. It is valid until the age of 68.

The insurance is not valid for competitive sports or any sporting activity that requires the signing of a licence or a disclaimer.

Leisure travel insurance

Travel insurance covers you in the event of an accident or illness during your trip. It also includes cover in the event of cancellation or interruption of your trip, as well as cover for luggage. It also covers liability and legal costs. The insurance is valid until the age of 68. The insurance also covers children and grandchildren under the age of 20 travelling with the insured person.

• Insurance is valid for domestic and international travel.

• Duration of trip max 45 days

• For travel insurance, the cover is secondary, i.e. the insured must seek compensation from any other insurance in the first instance

• The SOS International emergency service is available 24 hours a day, every day of the year, on +45 7010 5054

• For a member who is a grant recipient, is not employed and does not conduct business activities for income purposes, trips are leisure travel.

• For a member who is a grant recipient, is not employed and does not conduct business activities for income purposes, the leisure accident insurance is valid around the clock.

Union Event

Union event insurance covers members of the association when they participate in the activities of the association. The insurance includes cover for medical expenses and luggage. It also covers liability and legal expenses.  The insurance is valid until the age of 68

Claims handling serve you also in English. You can reach them from Monday to Friday between 08.00 and 16.00 over telephone (09) 6861 5151. You can also make a claim digitally here. You can choose English as language when submitting the claim . When making a claim, you must provide the following insurance numbers. You can also make a claim without an insurance number, in which case please enter "Tieteentekijät" in the open field of the claim form.
