At Chubb, we understand that being involved in any type of auto accident can be a stressful experience. That's why we try to make the claims process as stress-free as possible. From the moment you contact us to report the accident straight through to when your vehicle is repaired or replaced, we'll be there for you.
If you are involved in an auto accident, report it immediately so that, together, we can begin to get you back on the road and on with your life. But before we do that, we want to make sure that you are safe. Call 911 or the police for emergency assistance and remain at the scene of the accident until they get there. We understand that you may be shaken up, but if you are able, please gather as much information as you can, including:
The first step to compensation for any injuries or damages is to file a claim. We make it easy with three convenient reporting options, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Once you submit a claim, you will be assigned a dedicated Claim Examiner who will make every reasonable effort to contact you within six hours. He or she will ask you questions about the accident. Be sure to provide as many details as you can. The more information we have, the better able we will be to adjust your claim. Your Claim Examiner will be your main point-of-contact throughout the life of your claim, working with you to obtain repair estimates, assessing your vehicle for damages, setting you up with a rental car, if needed, and answering any questions you have along the way.
Your Claim Examiner may assign an appraiser to write an estimate to repair your covered vehicle, or you may be asked to obtain an estimate from a local repair shop. If you need assistance getting an estimate, we can refer you to a collision repair shop from our Preferred Vendor Network. The shop will provide an estimate, and we will review it with you. If, at any time, you have concerns or there are changes to the initial scope of work that we approve, we will go the extra mile to ensure that you are fairly compensated and satisfied with your claim settlement.
Your Claim Examiner can refer you to a collision repair shop or dealership from our network of service providers or, if you'd feel more comfortable, you can have your car repaired at an auto body shop of your choice. The decision is completely up to you and will not affect your claim or settlement. If you're not sure which way to go, we have highlighted some of the benefits of using our Chubb Trusted Network below:
We understand that life doesn't slow down because of an accident. That's why we make every effort to issue payment for a covered claim within 48 hours after agreeing on an amount.
If you have Agreed Value Coverage and it is determined that your car is a covered total loss, your deductible will be waived and our Specialized Total Loss Unit will work toward a prompt resolution.
If it's determined that another party was responsible for damage to your vehicle, our recovery team will work on your behalf to recoup your deductible and ensure the person(s) responsible pay for damage or injuries sustained in the accident. This process may take several months to thoroughly investigate and reach a settlement with the responsible party's insurance provider. We appreciate your patience and will work quickly and efficiently towards resolution.
At every step of the way, our goal is to provide you with a prompt, efficient and knowledgeable claim experience. Because we know that exceptional service is no accident.
