Making a Difference #BersamaChubb

Chubb in Malaysia worked closely with The Lost Food Project once again to combat food wastage in the local communities. A volunteering activity was held and Chubb staff who participated managed to sort and distribute 1,481kgs of food, providing a whopping 4,231 meals to those who were in need. Moreover, a composting workshop was held to provide more knowledge on how food waste can be repurposed.

More Trees for A Better Tomorrow

Chubb in Malaysia  continues its efforts to aid in the planting of trees in the Lower Kinabatangan Wildlife Sanctuary in Sabah with Animal Projects & Environmental Education Malaysia (APE Malaysia). The continuous effort demonstrates Chubb’s strong commitment to making a positive impact on the environment. A total of 1,000 trees have been planted as an initiative to restore habitats for endangered species.

Building a Circular Economy #PlasticRepurposed

In continuous effort to move #TowardsZeroWaste, Chubb in Malaysia organized an upcycling workshop  and a sustainability-themed treasure hunt for staff with the objective of spreading and driving positive change by educating and equipping staff with better knowledge on plastic usage and its waste.

The upcycling workshop featured a talk, followed by a hands-on workshop where staff were able to experience upcycling used/unwanted plastic into meaningful items such as pots, coasters, and keychains. Participants were also encouraged to contribute their unwanted/used plastic for the upcycling workshop.

The hunt on the other hand required participants to complete a task sheet which was crafted based on elements of sustainability. A fun way to foster a new norm and to encourage the 5Rs of Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, Repurpose, and Recycle.

Another Notable Initiative to #ReduceFoodPrint

To help minimize food waste from going to landfills, Chubb in Malaysia organized a cookies donation drive during Hari Raya 2023. With the generous support of Chubb staff, 148 containers of unexpired and unopened festive cookies were received and redistributed to urban poor families via The Lost Food Project.

“Lunch & Learn” to Raise Food Awareness

To highlight on the emerging issue of food wastage in our local communities, Chubb in Malaysia organized a “Lunch & Learn” session where a talk by The Lost Food Project was held to educate Chubb staff on the topic and to motivate positive change in eating habits.

Earth Hour is more than just switching off the lights. It’s also about spending time to connect to the Earth and appreciate everything that nature gives us. Therefore, Chubb in Malaysia sponsored 46 employees to participate in WWF-Malaysia’s inaugural Earth Hour Virtual Run for Nature. Over a period of four weeks, they completed a total distance of more than 500km in support of efforts to save the wildlife and forests.
