It’s ten-thirty p.m. when Gerry’s house loses power. He smells smoke in the air from the California wildfires raging for kilometres east of his home–full of photographs, memories, and history. Gerry, his wife, and two dogs are forced to head to safety with just the clothes on their backs. Unsure of what to do after that emotional night, they give Chubb a call.
