Chubb’s Employment Practice Liability Insurance policy is designed to protect employer’s against civil suits from employees in respect of work-related illnesses that the Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC) does not cover.

Coverage Highlights

Settlements payable in respect of claims for personal injury to employees suffered in the course of their work activities and not covered by the ACC. This can include:

  • Mental anguish, in the absence of physical injury
  • Food poisoning
  • Injury caused by a gradual process (e.g. disease or infection caused by passive smoking, and air conditioning systems)
  • Heart attack or stroke caused by stress
  • Nervous shock or fright
  • Stress and/or fatigue
  • Costs associated with defending these claims in court
